In 2004 TheGothenburgCombo won the first prize and the audiences’s prize in ”13eme Concours Internationale de Guitare en Duo” in Montelimar, France, the most prestigious competition for duo-Guitarists, making them one of the most sought-after and well-established ensembles. Since then, the duo has toured regularly throughout Europe, the USA, China and South America.

In 2009, TheGothenburgCombo toured the US (a major tour arranged by the Allied Concert Services), the Dominican Republic, the UK, Germany, Finland, Denmark and Sweden, performed at "Gitarrenfestival Bad Aibling" in Germany and presented their own compositions at the prestigious ISCM World Music Festival (International Society for Contemporary Music). Plans for 2010 includes the release of The Gothenburg Combo’s fourth album and tours in Germany, the Netherlands, Turkey, Peru, Denmark, Finland and Sweden.

Their first CD, 19th century music played on period instruments, was released in 2005. During a tour in Bavaria 2001 they were invited to the legendary luthier Hermann Hauser´s residence in Reisbach and were generously offered to use guitars from his collection of ancient instruments for the recording.
TheGothenburgCombo’s second album, “Soundscapes”, a tribute to the American composer Steve Reich, received brilliant reviews and made it to the top ten on the Swedish Album Chart. It was also recognized as one of the best albums of 2007 in several of the most influential Swedish newspapers. TheGothenburgCombo's third album, "La Vida Bréve", with more tradidional, romantic Guitar music was also received with great critical acclaim.

TheGothenburgCombo är en av Sveriges internationellt mest framgångsrika ensembler inom den klassiska musiken och turnerar ständigt runtom i Europa, USA, Kina och Sydamerika. Duon består av gitarristerna David Hansson och Thomas Hansy och har med sitt unika kammarmusikaliska samspel, sin tekniska perfektion, sitt nytänkande kring klassisk musik, sina okonventionella konserter och sin ovanligt starka scennärvaro rönt mycket stor uppmärksamhet de senaste åren.

I juli 2004 vann TheGothenburgCombo första pris och publikpriset för bästa scenframträdande i den internationella tävlingen "13ème Concours International de Guitare en Duo". Tävlingen hålls i Montelimar i södra Frankrike och är den största duo-tävlingen för gitarrister i världen.
Med skivan ”Soundscapes”, slog TheGothenburgCombo igenom ordentligt även som skivartister. CD:n innehåller minimalistisk gitarrmusik av bl.a. Steve Reich och släpptes i samband med att denne erhöll Polarpriset. TheGothenburgCombo framträdde också vid prisutdelningsceremonin.
Skivan rosades av en enig kritikerkår och utnämndes i slutet av 2007 till en av årets fem viktigaste skivor i alla kategorier av Dagens Nyheter! Den låg till och med på topplistan över mest sålda skivor, något som är mycket ovanligt för skivor i denna genre. Duons senaste skiva, ”La Vida Bréve”, med mer traditionell klassisk gitarrepertoar möttes också den med unisona hyllningar av pressen!

Under 2009 hade TheGothenburgCombo ett fullspäckat schema som innefattade en stor lanseringsturné i USA, och turnéer i Tyskland, Dominikanska Republiken, Storbritannien, Holland, Finland, Danmark och Sverige. I november framträdde de på Europas största och mest prestigefyllda gitarrfestival: ”Gitarrenfestival Bad Aibling” i södra Tyskland.
Under 2010 ger The Gothenburg Combo ut sin fjärde skiva med sina egna kompositioner samt turnerar i Tyskland, Holland, Peru, Turkiet, Finland, Danmark och Sverige.
Sedan 2008 är TheGothenburgCombo konstnärliga ledare för en internationell kammarmusikfestival på Gunnebo Slott, utanför Göteborg. År 2009 är duon presentatörer och värdar för ”World Music Days”, 2009, en stor internationell festival för nutida konstmusik, anordnad av ”ISCM” som detta år för för gången hålls i Göteborg.
Dessutom planeras två nya skivor under 2009-2010, en med duons egna kompositioner och en med musik av Bach.

En el 2004 el dúo ganó el primer premio y el premio de la audiencia en "Internacional de Concours 13eme de Guitare en Dúo" en Montelimar, Francia, la competición más prestigiosa para dúo-guitarristas en el mundo. Desde entonces han viajado regularmente por toda Europa, EEUU, China (dos grandes giras) y Sudamérica (su tercera visita sera en el 2009 y la cuarta en el 2010).

En 2009, TheGothenburgCombo hizò giras en EEUU (una gira mayor arreglado por "Allied Concert Services"), la República Dominicana, Inglaterra, Alemania, Finlandia, Dinamarca y Suecia, y presentó sus propias composiciones el prestigioso "Festival Internacional de Musica Contemporanéa, ”ISCM” (la Sociedad Internacional para la Música Contemporánea).
Los planes para 2010 incluyen la grabacion del cuarto álbum de Gothenburg Combo y giras en Alemania, Holanda, Turquía, Perú, Dinamarca, Finlandia y Suecia.

En el 2008 el dúo lanzo su tercer álbum, "La Vida Bréve" con gran aclamación de la crítica. El álbum anterior "Soundscapes", con la etiqueta holandesa "Northwest Classics", fue un homenaje al compositor Steve Reich. Este álbum recibio brillantes resenciones, que lo hicieron uno de los primeros en el ranquin de diez, en el Gráfico sueco de álbum y fue elegido uno de los mejores álbumes del 2007 en varios periódicos muy influentes.

Im Juli 2004 gewann das GothenburgCombo den ersten Preis und den Publikumspreis für besten Auftritt im internationalen Wettbewerb „13 `eme Concours International de Guitare en Duo“. Der Wettbewerb findet in Südfrankreich in Montelimar statt und ist der weltweit größte Duowettbewerb für Gitarristen.

Mit der CD „Soundscapes“, machten sich The GothenburgCombo auch als Schallplattenartiste einen Namen. Die CD enthält minimalistische Gitarrenmusik unter anderem von Steve Reich und kam auf den Markt gleichzeitig, als dieser den Polarpreis erhielt. The GothenburgCombo trat auch bei der Preisverleihungszeremonie auf.
Die Platte wurde einhellig von sämtlichen Kritikern gelobt und Ende 2007 als eine der 5 wichtigsten Platten aller Kategorien vom „Dagens Nyheter“ ausgezeichnet! Sie lag sogar auf der Topliste über meist verkaufte Platten, was in diesem Genre sehr ungewöhnlich ist. Die letzte CD des Duos „La Vida Bréve“ mit mehr traditionell klassischem Gitarrenrepertoar wurde auch einstimmig von der Presse gepriesen!

Das Jahr 2009 haben The GothenburgCombo ein gespicktes Program mit u.a. großer Einführungsturné in den USA als auch Turnéen in Deutschland, Der Dominikanischen Republik, Großbritannien, Holland, Finland, Dänemark und Schweden gehabt. Sie haben auch ihre eigenen Kompozitionen an der angesehenen ISCM Welt Musik Feier (Internationale Gesellschaft für Zeitgenössische Musik) präsentiert.
Pläne für 2010 schließen die Entlassung des vierten Albums Der Gothenburg Combo und Turnéen in Deutschland, den Niederlande, die Türkei, Perus, Dänemark, Finnlands und Schweden ein.
Seit 2008 sind The GothenburgCombo künstlerische Leiter für ein internationales Kammermusikfestival auf Gunnebo Schloss am Rand von Göteborg. 2009 präsentierte das Duo „World Music Days 2009“ und war Gastgeber für dieses große internationale Festival für jetzt zeitige Kunstmusik.
